Oyster Ball at Fraiche on the Avenues, Richmond VA

Next week is Memorial Day, which means the pools are opening, the kids are out of school, and barbeque season is in full swing. Make sure your house is summer-ready with our unique collection of fun decor like this oyster shell ball:

Hand-made Oyster Ball at Fraiche Richmond

Medium (9″) – $56  /  Large (12″) – $89

Dozens of natural oyster shells are strung together in this multifaceted ball, for a look that’s both organic and airy. It’s the perfect companion for any side table or bookshelf in need of some summery goodness. And for those of us who are landlocked, it’s a great way to bring the beach home. ♦

Item of the Week – Vintage Swim Suit Prints

Monday, May 13th, 2013

Say hello to summer with two fabulous giclée prints! Yes, they’re prints– even in real life, these babies have a trompe l’oeil effect due to the quality of the illustration. They’re perfect for beach houses or just for adding a bit of eclecticism to your home. These are going in my imaginary pool house, for sure. Or my imaginary cabana… :)

Item of the Week – Gallery Vase

Monday, April 22nd, 2013

Historic Garden Week is almost here!  We just got in a new stash of pots, vases, and cachepots, so if you’re in the mood to spruce up your porch or garden, Fraîche is the place to be!

Gallery Barnacle Vase at Fraiche

In the spirit of Garden Week, this week’s featured item is the Small Gallery Vase. Even long after the flowers have gone, this vase is still a stunning work of art all on its own. On its own, it invokes a mod simplicity that’s rounded out by an organically uneven opening. With just a single bloom, this little vessel still makes a bold statement.

Large Gallery Barnacle Vase at Fraiche

Also available as a grouping of 3 unique vases all in one. There’s no easier way to create interesting table arrangements than with an inspiring container! The shape of these cool vases reminds me of perfectly rounded barnacles, or a row of tightly-packed tulips. Let me know what you think!

Item of the Week • Tortoise Serving Pieces

Monday, April 15th, 2013

Hey all! Did you enjoy the fabulous weather this weekend?  I’m still totally sore from the Monument Avenue 10k. It’s a little pathetic, actually. :) Anyway, let me show you the cool new serving pieces we just got in:

Sabre Flatware at Fraiche

Sabre has long been one of Fraîche’s favorite brands. Their handmade cutlery and tabletop accessories are available in such a huge range of styles and colors, such as these Tortoise Serving Utensils in the Savannah line. The bad news is… this beautiful tortoise pattern is being discontinued by Sabre. Honestly, we’re shocked! But the good news is that we stocked up on hundreds of pieces of it.

Personally, I love the tortoise tart server. It’s perfect for jazzing up a simple vanilla cake or even for serving tarts and pizza. With the whole set of utensils, these would be SO cute for an animal-themed birthday party, or even a wild night in with just the girls!

Have fun with it! Oh, and all these pieces are available online! – Ruthie

Juliska just rolled out some amazing new designs, including a version of their illustrated Country Estate dinnerware in Delft Blue, which is absolutely stunning. See what it looks like on our shelves:

Juliska Country Estate Blue at Fraiche

In addition to the new Country Estate collection comes three new collections from Juliska:

1. Le Panier. Highlight piles of delicate greens or scrumptious desserts with this versatile salad/dessert plate, below. With a French basket weave pattern encircling the rim and finished in a rich Almond glaze, this plate is perfect as an understated accent.

2. Quotidien. Artisinal in texture yet modern in style, this chic new design from Juliska provides a subtle backdrop for layering. As you can see, we’re having a hoot mixing and matching from the new collections.

3. Firenze. Inspired by the ancient art of hand marbleized Florentine papers, the design of this plate is both spontaneous and elegant. This salad plate’s marbleized pattern (2nd picture) is the perfect accent to a whimsical table. And with Juliska’s very own Dahlia Napkin Rings to match, it’s so easy to create a unique and complex table setting.

The gals at Fraiche sure know how to make a happy birthday girl. Any time there’s a birthday at Fraiche, we celebrate the Libbie and Grove way… with Pearl’s Cupcakes. Doesn’t this look amazing?! It’s blueberry with goat cheese icing. Being just around the corner from them is SO dangerous.

Moving along… This week’s item is part of a new spring collection! I know it’s currently sleeting outside, but bear with me. (It’s technically spring, right?) Introducing the adorable Nova pot:

bluepot

With spring on its way and Garden Week in a couple of weeks, get ready for blooms of all kinds. The Nova pot comes in three colors and three different sizes, so they’re fun to mix and match. Here, we’ve got two in Lavender filled with Easter eggs and cute Caspari bunny napkins.

Foil Rabbit at FraicheEaster is right around the corner! It’s earlier than usual this year, so don’t let it sneak up on you. We’ve got lots of fun Easter decor in store. And if you’re the crafty type, check out my post last year about decorating with Easter eggs.

This week’s item is an adorable foil bunny. Most people think this little guy is made out of chocolate! Though he looks like the real thing, this no-calorie rabbit is actually made of sturdy metal with a faux foil finish. For just $15, you’ll have a charming decoration for years to come.

At 9 inches tall, this elegantly-posed bunny looks cute perched in a windowsill or as part of a larger tablescape.  This bunny and other Easter goodies are available on our online store as well as in-store!
